Free family fun planned at Town Hall for summer holidays
Folkestone Town Council have organised a series of free events for children over the school summer holidays.
Starting on the 28 July, there will be a chance for the kids to learn about the Anglo Saxons at the Town Hall. Your children will have the opportunity to learn what life was like and take part in various activities. There will be Anglo Saxon pot making, an opportunity to learn the art of cord making and see real Anglo Saxon artefacts. Plus Folkestone’s young people will have a chance to write a secret message in runes.
A few weeks later and the fun continues, this time while learning about dinosaurs. At this event the children will dig up some dinosaur remains, create their own fossil, see a real dinosaur bone and go on an expedition looking for dinosaurs.
Finally the Town Council have teamed up with Folkestone Library to host a Summer Reading Challenge called ‘Record Breakers’.
There will be fun record breaking activities and crafts and the kids will be able to make their own book of records to take home.
All the events are free but please book a place by calling Kay Whitehead on 01303 257946 or emailing: kay.whitehead@folkestone-tc.gov.uk.
