Indoor skate park proposed for Bingo Hall site
Following the purchase of the former Bingo Hall and derelict Co-op building by the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, plans for a new multi-sports centre have been announced.
Skateboarding, scooters, trial cycling, boxing and climbing are all being proposed as a range of challenging sports that will be offered.
Plans for the site on the Dover Road and Tontine Street junction were announced today by the Trust at 'The Shed' skate park, which is currently run by Folkestone Youth Project, one of the groups invited to join discussions about the new facility.
A public consultation about the plans will take place at Sunflower House on Foord Road, where people can see the plans and express opinions.
The trustees for the RDHCT said that a new multi sports centre would provide another opportunity for young people in the community. If approved, the new activity centre will offer access to young people, who, if they live locally, will get in at heavily subsidised rates.
The plans will be available for public view at Sunflower House on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May.

Internal plans include skate and bike floors

There will also be climbing and boxing facilities
